Focus Group Discussion UK-ID

A Focus Group Discussion was held between Indonesia and UK on Wednesday (16 / Sept / 2020). The organizer of this activity was NBRI which was attended by the Indonesian Minister of Research and Technology Prof. Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro, PhD, who acted as the keynote speaker. The activity was opened by the founder and president of the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) Prof. Dr. rer nat Evvy Kartini which was then followed by the launching of the NBRI website by Mr. M. Firmansyah as the NBRI project manager.

After Prof. Bambang delivered his material, the session was continued with the reading of material by the Vice of International Department which was presented by Prof. Colin Grant from Queen Marry University London (QMUL), who explained QMUL's interest in providing scholarships for Indonesian students who excel in all fields.

This session was then continued with material delivered by the Senior Policy Manager for International Development from UKRI, namely Mrs. Sian Zarkow. In her presentation Mrs. Zarkow explained about what UKRI is in general and what UKRI has been doing so far.

The last session was presented by the NBRI Co-Founder, Prof. Alan J. Drew who explained about QMUL, the reasons why QMUL is interested in collaborating with Indonesia and what to expect.

The next activity was a panel session which was attended by Ir. I Made Dana Tangkas, M.Si, IPU, ASEAN Eng from the Indonesia Automotive Institute, Prof. Dr. Ir. Anne Zulfia from University of Indonesia, M.Sc, Melli Nuraini Darsa, SH, LLM from PwC Indonesia, Dr. Ana Jorge Sobrido, PhD, FHEA from Queen Marry University London, and Prof. Magda Titirici from Imperial College London.

The number of participants who attended was 130 participants who were able to stay from the start of the activity to the end of the activity. The event which lasted for approximately 3 hours took place in a conducive and successfully. It is hoped that NBRI will be able to become a consortium, especially in the field of batteries and become bridging to introduce Indonesia to the international market.
